BR Movers

BR Movers provided me an estimate of $887 to move from my townhome to a two bedroom apartment and to take my other items to Cube Storage on Ft. Meade Road in Laurel, MD. I moved in the same development with the storage 10 minutes away. The movers broke imported china and crystal, art pieces, damaged my entertainment center, china cabinet and my wooden Secretary. They also left heavy pieces of glass table tops in my house and my apartment which meant, I had to pay two men to take those items to the storage. They also overcharged me, $2,900; 3 times the estimate I received. Mind you, I moved in the same development. I requested that they pay me $1,000 which was an underestimate because my laptop was stolen as well. I have not received a responsible response from them yet, my move was in December. In addition my custom made fabric sofa with rolled arms is upside down in the storage with a rolled arm on the bear floor when I provided them with furniture covers. They are completely ignoring my complaint and request. I have gotten feedback from other movers who refer to BR Movers as mafia behavior. I agree wholeheartedly after looking at the numerous complaints they have online. I sent them a full description of damages with pictures over 30 days ago and never received an apology or a responsible response. I would not recommend them for anything. They need to be more business-like and responsible and stop grossly overcharging people. Geri.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2900

After reading the reviews on line, I decided to go with BR Movers to move from PA to GA.  What a horrible decision that was.  The drivers were 2 hours late which was a problem seeing that I had to be out of the townhouse that day and was unable to get another truck.  When Nicole quoted me the price but was given another price after they had loaded my furnitures on their truck.  I was so upset because the price was double what I was originally given.  I told the driver if I had known it was going to cost that much, I would have rented a UHAUL and moved myself because I don't have $3300.   The other issues I had was: broken items and a missing dolly.   I did my due deligence and made sure that every box that had fragile items in it was clearly marked with big red FRAGILE on it.  Not to mention, when my belongings were loaded on the truck, every box was intact, not one was broken or damaged.  Yet when I received my belongings, several boxes came crushed and opened. In all the activities about moving, I gave the driver a hand dolly who told me that he had put it on the invoice and I didn't check to ensure that it was placed on the invoice. So as a result, they're claiming I never gave it to them, but my teenager was there when I did.   I tried to resolve this issue with the company and Mr. Biton the Operations Manager who sent me a letter stating that since I packed my belongings myself, BR Movers is not liable for damages.  Can you believe that? They are not liable because all claimed boxes are marked as "P.B.O" - pack by owner. The only thing they can tell me is that they are sorry.  By bringing my belongings to me in broken boxes does not signify supreme customer service.  Regardless of whether or not I packed my boxes, care should be given that the boxes are not crushed or damaged.  Also, I should be compensated and wants to be paid for my broken items.  I tried to upload photos but was told invalid image so enclosed is letter from BR Movers.  .

Service cost: $3300

My estimate was around $580 and the move cost me over $1060 plus tip. Nicole from BR explained that the $580 would cover everything; packing, boxes, disassembly & reassembly. 
There's no way that a estimate would double unless the company was just baiting me. 
They also charged an extra 5% just to use my credit card. 
I had no issue with the workers or the work done, I just felt BR was dishonest with the estimate. Fraudulent might be a better word. .

Fraudulent swindlers. Stay away from them. They overcharge and rip you off. They quote a different number and use harrasment tactics by holding your personal belongings and refuse to move in your items by threatening you to not deliver them if you refuse to pay the bogus charges they make up. They even charged me labor for packing even though I provided the packing material myself. They ripped me off on 160$ for just driving from dc to my place although their quote said it would only be 80$. Their initial estimate was 331$, but I ended up paying 700$ for all kinds of bogus charges their employee named jino made up. They are the most unscruplous self serving business people I have ever come across. Stay away from them if you can.

This company should not be in business.  They are essentially predators who prey on people at a vulnerable moment.  I made arrangements for BR movers to complete my move within Montgomery County, and was impressed so much by the quote Nicole gave me on the phone, that I asked for a 4th man on the crew to make for a more efficient operation.  Gino, the foreman, showed up with 4 guys, a mere 2 hours late, and proceeded to tell me I was backed in to a corner, and they would not move me if I didn't pay all the additional charges that they never mention!  So yes, like all the other reviews, I paid twice my quote.  Why?  Because my house was packed, it's moving day.  GOTCHA!  Right?  I filed a complaint through the Better Business Bureau as well, and after 2 months - nothing.   Do yourself a favor and hire someone else.  Anyone else!

We used BR movers to simplify a stressful time but unfortunately we had a miserable experience. We were faced with contract details that were not explained, doubling estimates, late movers, broken goods and poor costumer service with many unanswered phone calls. To begin, they were 3 hours late with no phone call and details of the contract about delivery date were not explained until after things were being loaded. When we brought this to their attention they threatened to take our deposit. They rush you to sign papers the hectic day of the move without explanation. The estimate was for $1500 according to the binding estimate we agreed upon. Again after things were already loaded we were told it would be a higher amount. We again said we would like to cancel since the agreed upon terms had changed. They again threatened to take our 20% deposit and we feared what they may do to our things that had been loaded. We persistently asked for an estimate for the increased charges. The foreman dodged our questions, until the end of the day once all our things were loaded. It was $3000, double the original amount. We felt helpless. We called the company and spoke to Ron a manager. We hoped there had been some misunderstanding of the final bill. Unfortunately, we were given little explanation and instead told how they had given us an excellent deal of $3000. We were told if we didn't want to pay that amount then we could pick our things up in their warehouse located about 5hrs away from our new home. We were not told when our things would be delivered. When they did arrive 5 days later another company showed up in an unmarked budget rental truck. One item was missing, a piece of furniture they wrapped was damaged and unusable and at least two other pieces had many new scratches. They sneakily had recorded all of our things as "scratched" upon pickup. They quickly offered $60 cash on the spot for the damages. However I estimate the cost of repair or replacement to be 200-300. We are filing a claim. In summary, we feel swindled and I hope you read this review first and avoid the mistake of using the unethical and unprofessional BR movers. .

We used BR Movers in the beginning of this year. We had 2 story house with basement and I go better job so me and my family had to move. Really a lot of stuff we had, but movers were pretty fast and finished to move the same day. So we packed the small stuff, left them big items. Our furniture was almost new, less than a year so my wife was very afraid it will be damaged during the move, but fortunately really great guys came so we ended up with no damage, stains or rips. The thing I liked the most was that movers were really open minded so we cooperated on some ideas how to save some time and money. It was a great experience.

I used BR Movers after finding them online and getting quotes from them on my email.The movers arrived within 15 minutes of when they were due to come. They packaged all my belongings very carefully, including taking apart the entire bed and then assembling it carefully at my new place. The men were very patient the entire time, including when the bustling management was taking a long time opening up the freight elevator!Most moving companies charge for a minimum of 3 to 4 hours. Ray from BR Movers gave me a great price for about 1.5 hours of work and send one extra man to help with the move!I had earlier called another moving company for me, which canceled 3 times on me!If you have a small apartment in DC, and do not want to pay for 4 hours of work when it would only take 1 or 2, use BR movers!I had a great experience with BR - the people were courteous, timely and reliable. They were very well mannered, and created a good experience for me.

Don't go on 5 star reviews, they are given by BRMovers itself. You will see a pattern like  either 5 star or 0 star. Definitely 5 star is from company itself and 0 star is customers like me. I will write entire thing in short words as I understand the customer who is reading do not have time to read entire post. 
 
I got the lowest quote from BR Movers and finally I decide to go with them. Initially Victoria was very smart and told everything is perfect and I was happy. But then a guy came to my house to pickup the luggage started giving me a very large amount of bill and was saying this cannot fit in 200 SQ feet, this is almost 300 SQ feet and many other unknown charges and it reached to $ 2500 instead of $ 950. I was not having option and I dropped some of the old furniture and TV to trash and the price came around $ 1500. 
 
After a week, I called Victoria and asked her about my luggage and she started to show her real attitude and told many bad words and finally agreed to give my luggage in about 10 days. I only know without my luggage how did I spent 10 days with my 1 year old child and my wife. Later on when I got my luggage there were couple of things were damaged and 1 thing was missing and in addition I got some other person luggage. That driver was Russian and was not at all friendly and talking to me in bad manner. I managed somehow and brought my luggage from an unknown place to my home as the truck was so large could not fit in my community. 
 
I called back to Victoria and asked her about missing thing and told her I got some additional luggage as well. She did not respond me and hanged up the phone. I again called and then her Manger Vicky picked up the phone and finally they agree to pay me for the thing which was missing. That was a very small amount like $ 50.
 
In conclusion, I would like to tell all the customers that please be prepare and at on your own risk deal with this guy.

Far away this company!! This company full of lies. They use lower quote as lure. And once you select their service, they start robbing money from you pocket. Their contract is full of trap. Besides this, before the delivery, they ask me to sign another form for some hidden charge like the following but never mentioned in contract.

Our apartment will move in on Aug 18th in CA, so my husband told BR movers that they could deliver stuff earlier around Aug 10th, because we were afraid they would be late. Last week, we called them, they said they would arrive on Aug 18th, let us no worry. Today, it's Aug 15th. We called them again to confirm the goods have delivered from DC, and you know what!! They told us that our stuff will deliver on Aug 18th from DC, still need 10 to 14 business days to arrive CA, WHAT?
I cannot believe they didn't care about their customers,they are dishonest, they always screw me up,THE WORST SERVICE. I NEVER choose them again!     .

My moving reviews
The move went smoothly from the beginning till the end. BR Movers came right away to give me an estimate so we agreed on terms and reasonable pricing.  I had enormous size glass furniture and paintings so visual estimate for me was essential.
The crew came on time what I really respect, everybody was very friendly and did not complain about me running around and asking to move things around and be extra careful. After they started to load boxes the rain started so we had to wait a bit more than hour, but this waiting time was not included into my bill. It was wet all around, but they covered everything, wrapped things and continued working.
After the crew finished unloading, I checked my glass furniture and things I worries about immediately while workers were still in the house. Nothing was broken so basically that was the most important for me.
I always prefer to call a small local company instead of market giants where it is impossible to sincerely case about each customer. This local company provided me with good service and pleasant experience.

Service cost: $800

DISHONEST MOVERS,  THEY TELL YOU ONE THING AND THEN HAVE HIDDEN, EXORBITANT FEES.   They estimated that my two bedroom apartment would take a few hours to move and would cost me approximately $500.  In actuality, it took them about 7 hours and they charged me nearly $2000.  They were also a hour late.  When I tried to resolve this with company, it took them over four months to determine that they were not going to reimburse me even a fraction.  I had to follow up several times before I got a response each time. The movers who came were nice and did a good job but the company is unethical with its fees.  I ended up paying what most companies charge for an across country move.  I moved less than 5 miles.  They force you to use their materials and then charge insane prices for their materials.  RUN AWAY.  USE A DIFFERENT MOVING COMPANY.  .

Overall my moving experience was very satisfactory. I have had some horrendous moving experiences before with other companies. Thankfully, BR Movers did not add to my nightmares. 
We chose three companies to get estimates from. BR Movers was the choice because of the estimate and a good price. The manager was relaxed, knowledgeable, and courteous. We all got a good feel from him. The actual moving crew was awesome! Friendly, everyone likes a smiling face. Each piece was well covered. I had a dining room set delivered and they arrived at exactly 9:00 to pick up the set (I thought they would run late like most companies do). The pick up was in Fairfax and was to be delived in Rockville. Movers handled each piece with care. They assembled it making certain it was exactly where I wanted it to be. The next time I need movers, I will call BR Movers and I will ask for the same guys to do the move. Thanks guys! I am very pleased.

I am sorry to say that this was the worst moving experience I have ever had, and I have moved overseas before.  1.  The final price was three times what they had originally quoted me. 2.  While packing stuff up, extra charges kept piling up on top of their original quote. 2.  They didn't show up to deliver the items during the time they were scheduled for and had to rescheule for WEEKS after. 3.  Over 50% of the boxes were wet, dirty, completely smashed, and had to be retaped throughout the moving process. 4. My furniture was not broken, however everything was scratched up and chipped that I could no longer bear to use it. 5.  They were not very responsive throughout the process and very hard to get in contact with. I will never go with movers ever again because of this experience.  I will always move myself from now on.  Do not be fooled by the original great priced quote they have for you. .
